Krista Detor & Friends – WFHB Local Live Remote Broadcast Part 1

On Wednesday, December 4, 2013, WFHB’s Local Live crew headed to Airtime Studio for a remote broadcast with Krista Detor and her many musical friends – Tim Grimm, David Weber, Amanda Biggs, Steve Mascari, Jim Krause, Anne Hurley, Janiece Jaffe and Justin Teague. Firehouse Follies’ “Leftover Turkeys”  with special musical guest: songwriter Michael Smith. They were joined by Arbutus Cunningham, Art Heckman, the WFHB Gospel Gurlz, the Firehouse Rounders, and the Unusual Suspects Radio Acting Troupe for a live performance at the Ivy Tech Waldron Auditorium.

Local Live – Jerry Miller

Legendary guitarist Jerry Miller (the Spurs, The Coachmen, Jack Smith & the Rockabilly Planet, Eilen Jewell, the Sacred Shakers…) has recently made Bloomington his temporary home while playing music with and supplying stories to local musician Nate Gibson. Gibson’s recent book “The Starday Story: The House That Country Music Built” and its accompanying album “The Starday Sessions” chronicles the historic label and it’s influential music makers, including Jerry Miller. Tonight, the two of them accompanied by Mike Lee an Tim Moore share with us songs from their recent musical releases and tell us a little about their lives in the wonderful world of music.

To call Jeremy Burton a punk musician would do serious injustice to his varied styles and influences. This solo set consisted of punk, country, and folk styles songs, and even a John Prine cover. It’s clear this musician has his ears in a lot of places.
