Charlotte shares how her musical journey began with piano lessons in kindergarten and grew through choir, voice lessons, and teaching herself guitar in college. She discusses her background with playwriting, describing how studying the craft taught her that “when you go for specificity, the result is often universality”, a lesson she brings into her songwriting. Charlotte finds inspiration in books, overheard conversations, and dreams. She opens up about her creative process, from singing out loud while biking around Brooklyn to unraveling emotions “like a ball of yarn.”
