Welcome to Voices in the Street. Public opinion polls in the streets of Bloomington. Voices in the Street provides an opportunity for residents to anonymously voice their opinions and perspectives on the issues and events that matter most to Bloomington citizens.
This episode of Voices in the Street is a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day special, recorded at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater on January 19th, 2026 during the MLK Birthday Celebration event.
It features a series of short, candid interviews with community members responding to questions like when they first learned about Dr. King and to share stories and quotes that stuck with them. The crew also asks if peaceful protesting is still effective, if change happens faster or slower in today’s society, and for ways we can promote equality in everyday life.
