  • Bloomington Fourth Street parking garage construction delays are costing the city $2,000 a week in construction management fees. The garage has been closed for over one year. Construction delays follow an eminent domain lawsuit between Juan Carlos Carrasquel, owner of JuanSells.com, and the city.
  • Bloomington City Council approved the Rental Assistance Demonstration Program’s Economic Development Notes and Loan Proceeds. City Attorney Larry Allen said loans will be used to renovate public housing at the January 15th meeting.
  • Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb filed for reelection today, having obtained signatures from every county in Indiana.
  • Bloomington Redevelopment Commission approved a project review form for a multi-use path project. City Engineer Neil Kopper said the project aims to fill in walk-able surface gaps throughout the city. He talked of path construction at the January 21st meeting.
  • The Monroe County Health Department is providing county homeowners with free radon tests.
  • Over the weekend, demonstrators marched through the streets of Indianapolis for the 2020 Women’s March. Protestors carried signs in support of equal rights for women surrounding Monument Circle on Saturday.
  • Earlier this afternoon, the Senate reconvened for its impeachment trial. Today, Senators heard opening arguments from the House’s impeachment managers. WFHB Correspondent Alex Dederer unpacks what Indiana lawmakers are saying about the president’s impeachment.
