Reminiscing about Thanksgivings past,reports of an unintentional self-inflicted gunshot wound on Nov. 17th at Kingsbury Fish and Wildlife Area, caller asks about safety concerning ice fishing this season, Don and Bill talk about ice fishing throughout the years on Lake Monroe, caller mentions hearing coyotes in Greene county, and saw a lot of deer tracks during the recent snow, Don brings up the issues talking with the DNR now in regards to a new ‘communication network’ that screens calls before you can talk to an officer, Don followed up on the Putnam county situation where a poacher had all charges dropped after multiple charges were raised, Bill talks about former DNR Concervation Officer Marlon Dodge and a situation that happened years ago concerning the role of the DNR officers and deer check stations, after another question about selling Bluegill in stores, he mentions the laws concerning this practice.

DEER SEASON: The Deer Reduction Zone Season is now continuous and runs from Sept. 15, 2019 through Jan. 31, 2020, The Firearms Season starts Nov. 16 – Dec 1, Archery Season is from Oct. 1 through Jan. 5, 2020, The Muzzleloader Season starts the first Saturday after the end of Firearms Season and runs for 16 days. The 2019 season is Dec. 7 through Dec. 22. The Youth Deer Season is the weekend prior to Oct 1. This year, the season is Sept 28-29.
TURKEY SEASON: Fall archery for Turkey begins Oct. 1 through Oct. 27, then returns Dec. 7 through Jan. 5, 2020. Fall firearm for Turkey begins Oct. 16 through Oct. 27.
