Herald-Times Sold to NY Publisher

The Herald-Times is among eight Indiana newspapers sold to Gatehouse Media. South-Bend based Schurz Communications Inc. purchased The Herald-Times, in 1966. Scott Schurz addressed members of the Bloomington-based newspaper this morning, at 9 a.m. The former publisher, along with departing Editor Bob Zaltsberg announced the paper, along with other holdings of Schurz Communications’ publishing division, will be sold Friday. Indiana Abortion Clinic Denied License

The Indiana State Department of Health denied a license to an abortion clinic, yesterday. The Texas based non-profit, Whole Women’s Health Alliance, attempted to open the first abortion clinic in South Bend in over a decade. National fallout from sexual abuse scandals in the Catholic church continues to bring to light to abuse cases in Indiana.
