Post-Inauguration Protests Begin in Bloomington

A weekend of anti-Trump activities kicked off in Bloomington Friday, with workshops, marches and a standing-room-only rally at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater. Workshops Bring Activists from Standing Rock to Bloomington

During Friday’s “Inaugurate the Revolution” event in downtown Bloomington, residents packed into the Monroe County Public Library to hear from Native American activists about the ongoing pipeline battle over Standing Rock. Advocacy Groups Hold Protests for Communities Affected by President-Elect

Bloomington and Indianapolis both saw protest activity over the weekend in reaction to Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election. Locals Protest Pipeline

Twenty protesters gathered yesterday in front of the South Walnut Street Sunoco gas station to protest the Dakota Access oil pipeline. A Sunoco clerk called the police once the protesters refused to move out of one of the lot’s entrances, according to the Herald-Times. Protesters were reportedly blocking traffic.
