Brown Co. Parks Director Signed Off on Logging

The Brown County Parks and Recreation Dept. signed off on a logging contract that clear-cut a scenic overlook. At least one acre was logged along both sides of N. Highway 135, south of Bean Blossom. Herald-Times Sold to NY Publisher

The Herald-Times is among eight Indiana newspapers sold to Gatehouse Media. South-Bend based Schurz Communications Inc. purchased The Herald-Times, in 1966. Scott Schurz addressed members of the Bloomington-based newspaper this morning, at 9 a.m. The former publisher, along with departing Editor Bob Zaltsberg announced the paper, along with other holdings of Schurz Communications’ publishing division, will be sold Friday.
