Monroe County Asks For More Conversation About Hoosier Logging

The County Council signed a letter to the Hoosier National Forest’s district ranger, asking for broader public discussion of the pending Houston South project. The project calls for logging of approximately four thousand acres within the Hoosier National Forest. Lake Monroe Friends Secure City Backing

The Utilities Service Board will support a water quality initiative, by the Friends of Lake Monroe. Friends of Lake Monroe, a nonprofit, is applying for a federal grant to develop a watershed management plan, which would include the creation of a watershed coordinator position.
