Bloomington High School Students to Walkout for Gun Reform

Bloomington High School students will walk out of class this Friday, as part of a nation-wide protest aimed at gun reform. Commission Approves $34 Million for Switchyard Park

The Bloomington Redevelopment Commission approved spending $34 million to construct Switchyard Park, yesterday. The Commission approved over $25 million worth of ‘additional features,’ that go beyond the original park plan, including a skate park, limestone concert seating, and a 90-space overflow parking lot off of Rogers Street. Rep. Pierce Tours Yellowwood’s Back Country Logging

State Rep. Matt Pierce (D-Bloomington) toured logging areas of Yellowwood State Forest last week. The Bloomington Police Department captured a suspect in connection with an attempted murder investigation. Brandon Richardson is wanted for allegedly tying up his girlfriend, beating, stabbing and strangling her over a period of three days. STDs on the Rise in Indiana

Studies from the Centers for Disease Control show that in Indiana, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea and Syphilis are of particular concern. Preliminary data for 2017 suggests an eleven percent increase in Chlamydia rates, a 25 percent increase in Gonorrhea rates, and a one percent increase in total Syphilis cases.
