Rebekah Spivey has always been interested in how people get to be who they are and Flight Plan is about exploring how the main character got in, and gets out of, a controlling relationship. The story takes place in Scotland, where the beautiful and rugged landscape is in essence another character. The fictional Isle of Rooks is based on the Isle of Iona on Scotland’s west coast, and according to Rebekah, who has spent a lot of time there, it’s a magical place where the veil is very thin between this world and whatever is beyond.
ABOUT the Author
Rebekah Spivey’s first novel Marigolds in Boxes was published in September, 2024. She has long been a part of the Women Writing for a Change Bloomington community where she facilitates writing circles and retreats.
