Ellettsville Town Council

At the Ellettsville Town Council meeting on April 24th, discussed an ordinance on a water rate increase.
Senior Manager at Baker Tilly, Mitchell Eschweiler shared the findings of their study on the water rate study they were contracted to conduct.

Eschweiller shared the history on the cash and investment balances for the Town of Ellettsville.

He said that if the rate change is passed, the average residential user’s cost would go from 24 dollars to 32 dollars.

He shared the next steps if the council wanted to move forward with the water rate increase.

The next Ellettsville Town Council meeting will be held on May 8th.

Bloomington Utilities Service Board

At the Bloomington Utilities Service Board meeting on April 24th, Director Vic Kelson gave a presentation on the Resource Recovery Program Feasibility Study.

Kelson explained that the project is eligible for an Investment Tax Credit that is for projects that have zero emissions.

Kelson gave a summary of the financial feasibility.

He also gave a summary on the benefits that the project could have for the community.

The next Bloomington Utilities Service Board meeting will be held on May 8th.

Today marks Primary Election Day. Local voters had the chance to select the nominees for city council, city clerk and Bloomington mayor.

WFHB News spoke with local voter Beth Ellis at Fairview Elementary School. Next, the newsroom spoke with two poll workers at the Indiana Memorial Union. Then, we heard from two voters at the Sample Gates, Tim Dwyer and Emmett Nolan.
