Monroe County Board of Health
At the Monroe County Board of Health meeting on July 14th, Clinic Manager Lori Terrell gave an update on the Public Health Clinic.
Incoming Health Department Director Lori Kelley gave an update on Covid-19 rates in Monroe County.
Health Department Director Penny Caudill added that Monroe County is in a medium level of transmission due to a slight increase in hospitalizations.
The board then continued to discuss the 2023 budget. Caudill explained that they analyzed the last three years worth of expenses to see what the average costs were to help predict future expenses. She shared that the amount spent on fuel increased over the three year period, and they could consider budgeting more for fuel in the future.
Caudill also said that environmental health supplies saw an increase as well.
The board voted to approve the 2023 budget with flexibility for salaries to increase.
The next Board of Health meeting will be held on August 25th.
