At their meeting on July 11th, the Monroe County Council approved the issuance of bonds for the Fullerton Pike Bridge Project. The funds approved by the council will help with repayment of bonds of up to 8 million dollars and the unspent money will help fund Phase Three of the Fullerton Pike Project.

The council also approved the conversion of one of the two vacant Juvenile Supervision PO positions to an additional Evidence-based Practices Coordinator/PO position. Chief Probation Officer, Linda Brady explained the new position to the council.

Also discussed at the meeting was a capital improvement project for the Karst Athletic Complex. The Executive Director of the Cutter’s Soccer Club, Louis Malone, shared with the council the Club’s support for the project.

The project to replace the current field would cost nearly 4.4 million dollars. However, the Karst Athletic Complex along with Mr. Malone argued the renovation would bring more athletic events to the area.

The Monroe County Council will meet again on August 8th, 2023.
