  • Bloomington Mayor John Hamilton introduced the 2019 Public Safety Annual Report during a public meeting on February fourth. Police Chief Michael Diekhoff said crime rates are up.
  • Development Services Manager Jackie Scanlan presented the Curry Urban Property’s approximately three acre Preliminary Plan and District Ordinance to the Bloomington City Council. She addressed building workforce housing plans during the February fifth meeting.
  • Former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg was confirmed to win a narrow margin over Senator Bernie Sanders, as all the votes were counted in the Iowa caucus.
  • The Monroe County Election Board discussed 2020 Primary Election preparations. Election Supervisor Karen Wheeler spoke about Election Central reconstruction at the February sixth meeting.

  • Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs was mentioned in senate bill 276 earlier in January however it did not make it to the Senate. Junior Correspondent, Katrine Bruner discusses the guidelines for the bill in relation to SPEA with IU’s spokesperson Chuck Carney.
  • This weekend marks the second annual Bloomington Music Expo at the Monroe County Convention Center. News Director Kade Young talked to Executive Director at Visit Bloomington Mike McAfee about the inner workings of the music expo. WFHB Community Radio is sponsoring the event.
