Ellettsville Town Council explained changes they want to make to their 2022 budget

Ellettsville Town Council meeting on December 13th Town Manager Mike Farmer explained salary changes necessary for the 2022 budget. He said that the Wage Survey didn’t account for the growth of the planning department’s duties.

Council member Dan Swafford cautioned that diverging from the Wage Survey could spark other wage changes.
Farmer replied saying that the Wage Survey didn’t account for the Assistant Planner filling the position of multiple assistants.

Council member Scott Oldhamm supported changing the salary and said that in the future they need to make budget changes based on the duties rather than the person or the position.

There was discussion between council members on the official decision, and they decided to make an official decision at the next town council meeting on December 27th.
