Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson has met recently with County clerks around the state to advocate for what are known as vote centers in upcoming elections. A vote center model dramatically reduces the number of voting locations in counties, and Lawson says the change would save money. In Monroe County, many Democrats have lobbied for vote centers in recent years, but the County’s Republican party has been slow to accept the idea. For today’s WFHB feature exclusive, Assistant News Director Joe Crawford reports on the status of the vote center debate in Monroe County.
