Earlier this month, an Indiana University student was arrested and charged with felony intimidation after posting to Twitter what police determined was a threatening message about Provost Lauren Robel. The student said the post was sarcastic, and the charges were dropped several days later. But the case brought up questions about free speech on sites like Twitter and Facebook, which are increasingly being used and monitored by police and other authorities.For today’s WFHB feature exclusive, Assistant News Director Joe Crawford brings us this report on the recent incident at IU and how it fits in with changing dynamics across social media.
