Locutora, Luz Lopez,  entrevista a doctorado de Literaturas y culturas hispanas del departamento de español y portugués, Daniel Runnels.  Entrevistamos a sus studiantes de la IU Cassidy Garner, Alicia González, Sarah Kurpius, Jessica Morris, Leigh Anne Reuter, Joye Tracey, Megan Waters, para hablarnos sobre: derechos y salud de las mujeres, con un enfoque específico en temas latinoamericanos. No presente pero también hicieron la investigación fueron Sammi May y Olive Rusk.  Ellas hicieron una investigación sobre la salud maternal y los factores diferentes que afecta a la salud maternal.  Mensionaron sobre el libro “Changing Birth in the Andes:”  Dicen que la autora quiere que continuemos a trabajar con las mujeres indijenas para seguir protegiendo la salud y cultura. Hablaron sobre la estructura de poderes específicamente en el concepto de la intercultural.  Hablaron sobre la percepción de las mujeres indígenas en la sociedad peruana actual y sobre la comunicación entre las mujeres indígenas y las matronas.  Ellas finalizaron la entrevista hablando sobre la esterilización forzada y sobre las maneras de controlar los sistemas reproductivos de mujeres hoy en día.

Host, Luz Lopez, interviews doctorate of Hispanic Literatures and Cultures from the Spanish and Portuguese department, Daniel Runnels. We continued with interviewing his IU students Cassidy Garner, Alicia González, Sarah Kurpius, Jessica Morris, Leigh Anne Reuter, Joye Tracey, and Megan Waters, to talk to us about: women’s rights and health, with a specific focus on Latin American issues. Not present but also did the research were Sammi May and Olive Rusk. They did research on maternal health and the different factors that affect maternal health. They mentioned the book “Changing Birth in the Andes:” They say that the author wants us to continue working with indigenous women to continue protecting health and culture. They spoke about the power of structure specifically in the concept of the intercultural. They spoke about the perception of indigenous women in current Peruvian society and about communication between indigenous women and midwives. They ended the interview by talking about forced sterilization and about ways to control women’s reproductive systems today.
