Play

Welcome to the 88th episode of Hearabouts: Asian American Midwest Radio. Hearabouts is produced by Indiana University’s Asian Culture Center in collaboration with WFHB. We ask critical questions about identity, culture, community, and shared assumptions. This episode is produced by Belle Chatpunnarangsee and Joanna Kung.

In honor of celebrating International Women’s Month, in this episode, we are joined by Maia Ruiz-Law a violinist and psychology major student here at Indiana University. We talked about the acknowledgement of women in classical music and the diversity within Maia’s academia and musical academia path. We shared thoughts, experience, and simple ways to discover personal identity and explore the unfamiliarity.
