Welcome to the 56th episode Hearabouts: Asian American Midwest Radio. Hearabouts is produced by Indiana University’s Asian Culture Center in collaboration with WFHB. We ask critical questions about identity, culture, community and shared assumptions. This episode is produced by Andrew Pace and Melanie Castillo-Cullather. Our sound engineer is Michael Sears.

As we continue to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, we would like to have a conversation about activism, about how one can get involved and what it takes to get involved in your community. Today, we will have a conversation with Ami Gandhi. In this episode we have a discussion on Asian American Pacific Islander activism, community engagement and getting involved to address important social issues such as voting rights.
