On today’s edition of Bring It On! hosts Clarence Boone and William Hosea speak with Haneefah Khaaliq and Natalia Galvan about upcoming political races in Indiana and other political issues of importance.

Haneefah Khaaliq

Haneefah Khaaliq is running as a candidate for the United States Senate. A longtime Hoosier, she was born and raised in the Hyde Park area of Illinois. She came to Indiana in 2000 and attended Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis. Later, she became a public-school teacher and taught science in public, private and charter schools. In 2014, she returned to school to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming a lawyer. After graduating from Valparaiso University School of Law, she became the Executive Director and Presiding Officer for a civil rights agency and human relations commission. Haneefah is also an ADA, Title VI Coordinator, and a current adjunct professor at Indiana University.

Natalia Galvan

Natalia Galvan, born in Chicago, graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington and returned to Bloomington a short-while after  after graduation to volunteer for Liz Watson’s Indiana 9th  Congressional seat race in August 2017. Natalia was elected and serves as the chair of the Indiana 9th Congressional District Latino Caucus. She also serves on the executive board as Secretary of the Monroe County National Organization for Women and was recently appointed as a Vice-Precinct Committee-person in Monroe County. She is a member of the Democratic Women’s Caucus, Indiana Coalition for Public Education and is a proud Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in Monroe County.
