On today’s edition of Bring It On!, hosts, Clarence Boone and Liz Mitchell, discuss the results of the recent Bloomington primaries in the context of the upcoming November General Elections with Ruben Marte and campaign managers William Hosea and Nicole Brown.
The results of the Bloomington Primaries are in. As for black candidates vying for nominations, here are the results:
- For the democratic primaries for the Indiana Ninth Congressional District, Matthew Fyfe bested African American candidate Isak Asare by 27 percentage points.
- In the Democratic primary for Monroe County Sheriff, Ruben D. Marté is the winner. He will face Republican Nathan Williamson in the November general election. Marté received 48 percent of the vote and beat four other Democrats for the nomination: Troy Thomas, finished second, followed by Joani Stalcup, Angie Purdie, and Steve Hale.
- Running unopposed in the Democratic primary race for Monroe County Council, District 4 was incumbent Jennifer Crossley (D).
- And, running unopposed in Democratic primary race for Monroe County Circuit Court Clerk was incumbent Nicole Browne.
