PART ONE:
Hosts Clarence Boone and Jacinda Townsend speak with Tanya Bell, the General Counsel and President of the Indiana Black Expo (IBE), who provides an enticing overview of what people can experience when they attend this year’s Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration. For nearly 50 years the IBE has been a pillar of the Indiana black community, by empowering individuals through education and other hands-on initiatives. IBE’s Summer Celebration 2019 is the biggest event of the summer. There will be free concerts, celebrity basketball games, film screenings, and other arts & cultural events with proceeds supporting IBE programs.

For more than three decades Indiana University has been a proud supporter of the Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration, one of the largest African American cultural events in the country. During this week-long celebration, Indiana University participates in the Indiana University Education Conference, the annual Pacers Sports and Entertainment Corporate Luncheon, and a three-day exhibition. PART TWO:
Another riveting episode of Dark Past, Bright Future (DPBF) is also presented. DPBF is a feature segment that presents African-American historical perspectives that you won’t hear in mainstream media.
