Bring It On! – December 16, 2019

Play

Host Clarence Boone spends the hour with William Morris, the host of WFIU’s
jazz program Just You and Me, for which he created the upbeat “Soul
Kitchen” featuring funky jazz, R&B, gospel, and rock. He began at WFIU
after five years of volunteering here at community radio station WFHB,
where he hosted such programs as the Tuesday Afternoon Music Mix, Hora
Latina, and The Jazz Menagerie. He broadcasts with his radio handle of
“Brother William”, a name that works on different levels, including
identifying him as African American and an evangelist for all things musical,
be it jazz, blues, gospel, rock ’n’ roll, world music, or Americana.

Mr. Morris is a full-time staff attorney at Indiana Legal Services. He previously
was in a private practice that concentrated on civil rights and employment
discrimination. This soon will change as he had an important “divine”
announcement to make during our show tonight. Along with that, we
wanted to bring him on to catch-up on a variety of legal issues of
importance in our community and perhaps a word or two on the recent
voting rights expansion bill… which, by the way, had the support of just
one Republican.
