Part One:
Hosts William Hosea and James Sanders welcome Dr. Terri Frances, Associate Professor of Cinema and Media Studies and Director of The Black Film Center/Archive at The Media School at Indiana University. She is also a Bring It On! regular guest. Today’s discussion focuses on When They See Us, a 2019 American drama web television miniseries created, co-written, and directed by Ava DuVernay for Netflix. They also discuss other matters relating to black person-hood in the media and the impact of the Central Park Five case in their lives as African-Americans in the United States.

Part Two:
Hosts William Hosea and James Sanders welcome Rabbi Sue Silberberg, the Director of the Helene G. Simon Hillel Foundation at Indiana University, and Doug Bauder, the Director of the LGBTQ+ Culture Center at Indiana University. Rabbi Silberberg is also a co-leader of Bloomington United, a community organization dedicated to resisting hate. Given the mounting social unrest taking place nationally and locally, we’ve invited them to discuss Bloomington United’s upcoming Evening of Solidarity, called “Bloomington United: We Are Stronger Than Hate” to be held at the Monroe County Courthouse on Tuesday, August 27 at 5:30 PM.
