Hosts William Hosea and Beverly Calender-Anderson spend the hour with guests, Rev. Forrest Gilmore, Executive Director of Shalom Community Center, Ms. Amber Skoby, Executive Director of the Bloomington Housing Authority, and Nicole Johnson, a community activist living the Crestmont area of Bloomington, IN. They talk about Bloomington’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and how the city’s agencies and community leaders have worked to safeguard the health of the community.

Tonight’s discussion involves assessing the effectiveness of Bloomington’s interventions and mitigation efforts, especially given the recent spikes of COVID-19 in neighboring states and the steady increases also being felt here. Further, with increased concerns about COVID-19 spread with the returning flood of IU undergraduates to the city, they make sure to discuss the concerns of those who feel marginalized and are at high risk during this pandemic.
