The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is carrying out prescribed burns in Morgan-Monroe and Yellowwood State Forest, over the next month.
Resource Specialist Mike Spaulding said three locations will be burned, totaling over 600, acres in Morgan-Monroe State Forest. Another 430-acres will be burned in Yellowwood State Forest. The Department of Natural Resources said the burns are necessary to provide ecological opportunities for Indiana’s native Oak and Hickory trees.
