Welcome to our 46th episode of Hearabouts: Asian American Midwest Radio! Hearabouts is produced by WFHB and Indiana University’s Asian Culture Center. We ask critical questions about identity, culture, community and shared assumptions.

Today’s episode is a film commentary on Minari, starring Steven Yeun, Han Ye-ri, and Yoon Yuh-jung. The film centers around a Korean-American family who moves from California to rural Arkansas in the 1980s in search of their own American dream. Nominated for multiple awards, our hosts Andy Pace, Elise Lee, and Kulsoom Tapal discuss what stood out to them from the film, their favorite scenes, and the underlying messages of what it means to be an immigrant family in America.
