Earlier today, Bloomington City officials announced extensive plans for city-wide construction projects that will enhance alternative transportation options for area residents and visitors. Among the initiatives is an Allen Street bicycle boulevard, which will connect Bryan Park with the B-line trail and the city’s future park to be built on the McDoel Switchyard property on the city’s southwest side. Another bike-and-pedestrian friendly trail is slated to be built on an abandoned railroad spur located along South Henderson Street. In today’s feature, we go on-location to City Hall to hear from city planning director Tom Micuda who details the various time frames, costs, and locations of these projects, in this WFHB feature report.
