Lotus Fest’s Katarina Koch

Play

Koch (pronounced kaw) took the reins last July from longtime executive director Tamara Loewenthal and this year will oversee the 31st Lotus World Music & Arts Festival from start to finish. Koch runs the business end of the nonprofit Lotus Educational & Arts Foundation while Loewenthal, who remains on board as artistic director, concentrates on the arts, cultural, and performance aspects of Lotus. Koch hopes to integrate physical and mental health, culture, music, and food in the Lotus world as she has run a southern Indiana network of clinics, has been a personal chef, and even worked in Bloomington’s venerable Goods for Cooks shop.

Host Michael Glab chats with Bloomington’s most fascinating people.
