Kitty Kitty Meow Meow is blind and mostly deaf. She is seeking a person to love and a couch to cuddle up on. Shelter staff and a veterinarian can help advise on how to care for a cat with sensory deficits. It’s a common belief that pets are safe from fleas and ticks once the temperature drops below freezing, but unfortunately, that’s a misconception. Fleas and ticks can pose threats to pets year-round. Although ticks are most active during the warmer months, some species can remain active during colder months. Flea pupae can be nestled into furniture or carpeting for extensive periods of time. For dogs and cats, preventative medication can provide defense against fleas and ticks year-round.
