Featured pet: Scarlett, a cat with the City of Bloomington Animal Shelter
Scarlett is a Domestic Short Hair cat, a little over 4 years old. She came to the City of Bloomington Animal Shelter because she had inflammatory bowel symptoms that were not under control. The shelter has tried a variety of medications to get her stabilized and on track – and they feel, with her current medicines, that she is doing great! She will have to be in a low-stress household, because stress contributes to IBD, but Scarlett has handled being at the shelter while they investigated what would work for her. Many cats have stomach sensitivities, but with the right care, they are just like every other cat. Scarlett loves to have her belly rubbed and is a very friendly, social, and talkative cat.
