Spider is a shy guy that may greet strangers with a hiss and a hide, but as soon as he gets a pet, he melts like butter. His foster mom says that he sought out affection after only a day with her. Spider is FIV positive, meaning he has Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. Spider could easily live happily with other FIV positive cats.

According to the Cornell Feline Health Center, FIV is one of the most common infectious diseases of cats. FIV attacks the immune system, leaving a cat vulnerable to many other secondary infections.
