INDOT to Wrap Up State Road 46 by October

The Indiana Department of Transportation said traffic in Brown County should get back to normal.

INDOT has been repaving significant parts of State Road 46 throughout the Summer. Motorists have had to wait at times, with only one lane along State Road 46.

INDOT said the road work will hopefully be completed by the end of September, although additional roadwork will take place in Columbus.
State Road 46, between Bloomington and Columbus is a main thoroughfare in Brown County. The road runs through Nashville and Gnaw Bone.

The estimated completion of road work comes just before Brown County sees an influx of visitors. Fall brings millions of so-called ‘leaf-peepers’ to Brown County every year.
