One week after the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill wants the Supreme Court to review and potentially reverse a lower court’s decision on Indiana abortion law.
In April, the Seventh Circuit court struck down two provisions of Indiana’s House Enrolled Act 1337. The two provisions, one prohibiting abortions on a basis of the fetus’ sex, race, potential medical conditions, or national origin of the fetus and the other requiring the burial or cremation of aborted fetuses, were both ruled unconstitutional.
Attorney General Hill’s request will be a test for the Supreme Court’s new composition, as newly-appointed Kavanaugh’s views on abortion were an area of concern for many before his confirmation.
