Indiana legislators returned to the capital this morning for the opening day of the 2013 legislative session. Although little has been decided so far, many expect the legislature to tackle issues ranging from gay marriage to income tax cuts to an overhaul of the criminal justice system. State Representative Matt Pierce, who represents most of Bloomington in the Statehouse, talked about all those issues during an interview last month with WFHB Assistant News Director Joe Crawford. In the interest of full disclosure, Pierce is a member of WFHB’s Board of Directors.
