Play

According to a 2011 study recently published by the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University, 97% of those planning to purchase a vehicle in the near future were not very interested in buying an electric vehicle. Despite electric car chargers in two Bloomington parking garages, Jackie Bauer, from the Office of Sustainability for the City of Bloomington, stated that the local electric vehicle driving population was no more than 10 to 20 drivers, though she expects that number to slowly grow over time. WFHB Correspondent Cleveland Dietz spoke with Sonya Carley, the lead researcher for the study, about the findings and the future of the electric vehicle market.
