The cities of Bloomington and Columbus announced a multi-million dollar deal to encourage entrepreneurial startups, this afternoon.
Bloomington Mayor John Hamilton, Columbus Mayor Jim Lienhoop, Dimension Mill founder Pat East, Columbus Chamber of Commerce President Cindy Frey, and Bloomington Communications Director Yael Ksander made the announcement via Facebook Live. Dimension Mill and the Columbus Chamber have reportedly put together one million dollars to match a $1.5 million venture capital investment by Elevate Ventures.
Private investors, including some of the area’s biggest employers, have helped Dimension mill put together its half a million dollar share of the funding. Both the Columbus Chamber and Dimension Mill are expected to contribute a half million dollars each, under a legal agreement with Elevate Ventures.
