Democracy for Monroe County is a local grassroots political action committee allied with Democracy for America, the political action committee inspired by the Presidential campaign of Howard Dean. On Saturday DFMC organized a Walk and Rally for Health Care Reform. Activists began their march on the B-line Trail and converged on Showers Plaza in front of City Hall where an ensemble cast of activists and elected officials advocated policy reform, particularly in support of a public option plan. Featured speakers included local resident Erica Seiffert, Local Democratic Women’s Caucus chair and City Clerk Regina Moore, and Monroe County Council President Vic Kelson as we go on-location in this WFHB special feature.
