The Bloomington Board of Park Commissioners approved a contract with White Buffalo Inc. to coordinate this year’s Griffy Nature Preserve deer cull.
Sharpshooters with the Deer Management Organization conducted the city’s 2017 deer cull. This year, the nonprofit will screen and train community hunters to conduct the cull.
The city’s natural resources manager, Steve Cotter, presented the White Buffalo contract in the Park Board’s October 4th meeting. He anticipates needing 35 to 40 hunters per day, over the six-day cull.
This year’s hunt will take place on the last two weekends in November, and the first weekend of December.
