Indiana’s Department of Natural Resources withdrew two controversial rule changes, which would have created a bobcat hunting season and would have required state-approved animal control workers to euthanize captured raccoons, coyotes and opossums; The General Assembly approved an oversight committee yesterday, to investigate issues plaguing Indiana’s Department of Child Services; Bloomington Public Works Director Adam Wason reports a rapidly changing, global recycling market could eventually lead Bloomington to charge residents for recycling; Construction at three major Bloomington intersections is on schedule; Bloomington high school students are asking the city’s government to step up efforts to combat climate change.

FEATURE: The Environmental Protection Agency designated downtown Spencer as a Superfund site yesterday, due to chemical pollution in the town’s groundwater. IU Law Professor Robert Fischman talks about the impact the designation as a Superfund site will have for area residents.
