An affordable housing development planned for the former Thomson plant property is moving forward, and Commissioners declared Friday, May 11th as Housing for Hoosiers Day. The National Association of Letter Carriers’ annual “Stamp Out Hunger” campaign takes place this Saturday, May 12, and benefits the Hoosier Hills Food Bank.  Indiana residents voted in favor of 12 school referendums during this Tuesday’s primary election.  There will be lane changes and closures on both the Second and Third Street bridges starting this evening, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.

FEATURE:  The U.S. congress is currently drafting a new Farm bill. In addition to providing insurance and subsidies for farmers and agricultural businesses, the bill would also cut benefits and increase work requirements for SNAP recipients. WFHB correspondent Jonah Chester brings us the story for today’s feature report.
