President Donald Trump is expected to announce his nominee for the Supreme Court today; Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill is refusing to step down from his post, following sexual assault allegations last week; Planned Parenthood is closing their clinic in Fort Wayne due to intimidation; Brown County is expected to break ground on a new 12 and a half million dollar performing arts center.
FEATURE: “Flow arts” is a relatively new creative form that’s drawing more participants, and audiences, by the day. Paula Chambers formed the Hudsucker Posse in 2008. That group has now grown to include aerialists and circus arts performers. As Bloomington’s foremost practitioner, Chambers has been dubbed our town’s “flow arts mama” and she considers herself an ambassador for the practice. The Hudsucker Posse’s flow arts group will stage a number of shows and exhibitions in the coming months, including Va – Va – Va – Vaudeville, in August. Chambers joined host Michael Glab on last week’s edition of Big Talk.
ACTIVATE: Ellen Bergan was inspired to create her own community resource, the Van-Go Mobile Art Studio, when she joined the Monroe County Youth Council in high school. Bergan applied for, and received a grant, her junior year to found the Van-Go Mobile Art Studio. We’ll hear about Van-Go and Bergan on today’s activate – spotlighting people working for positive change in our community.
