FEATURE
The city of Bloomington received their quarter million dollar armored truck over the weekend, putting to bed a controversial saga that has lasted since the purchase was announced, earlier this year. Activists say it’s not just the purchase of an armored truck that has them concerned, it’s also the way in which the purchase went forward; No community input was solicited during the purchase process, until the purchase was brought up by activists. Bloomington City Council member Steve Volan penned a letter to Mayor John Hamilton’s office, in February. In today’s feature, WFHB News Director Wes Martin speaks with Volan, who says city council was largely excluded from the purchase, despite facing community criticism.
