Grace Kestler filed campaign information today, becoming the first disabled female candidate to run for Columbus city council; Last night, the Bloomington Common Council held its first of three meetings to review and amend the city’s draft Transportation Plan; Monroe County officials are working to develop better safety protocols for the county’s rental properties.

FEATURE
Senate Bill 610 in the Indiana legislature would establish civilian oversight of logging proposals for the state’s forests and wildlife habitats. The bill is authored by Indianapolis republican state senator John Ruckelshaus, and co-authored by 39th district republican state senator Eric Bassler. In today’s feature report, Bassler tells WFBH he’s previously sponsored legislation aimed at preserving 10-30% of state forests from logging.
