HEADLINES
Indiana Senator Joe Donnelly met with Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, earlier today; Monroe County residents will see fewer road clean-up crews picking up trash; The Monroe County Community School Corporation’s 2019 budget is expected to be nearly five million dollars higher than this year’s budget; The Indiana Arts Commission announced yesterday that they will bestow awards to two Bloomington recipients.

FEATURE
Monroe County Tax Assessor Judith Sharp says after she determines the taxable value of the land and improvements on a property, corporate companies will appeal how much they should pay. She says that often takes years of deliberation in the state’s tax review board, costing taxpayers time and money. Sharp says the worst actors in Monroe County are Lowes, Target, and Menards – big box retailers who are having a busy week as students move in.
