The Bloomington Planning Commission met for a public hearing on the new Bloomington Unified Development Ordinance, or UDO. The new UDO has new requirements for structures being built within the city limits, as well as what can be built and where. In regards to non-university housing aimed at students, the buildings are subject to lower height limits, and ways to make more affordable housing in Bloomington. There was plenty of lively talk on both sides of the issue, with opposition and support.
