BloomingOUT w/ LGBTIQ+ Center UPDATE – February 20th, 2020

Play

We’re back again with more news to share! In this episode, we cover legislative updates to the over anti-LGBTQ 200 proposed bills that have come up this year across the country. The good news is that most of them are not making it past committee, but the fight is not over yet. (40:00)

Before we get into that, we have an exciting announcement about the development of the LGBTIQ+ Center in Bloomington from Melanie:

“We are renewing the original donation campaign for our LGBTIQ+ Community Center. We need the funds to make it to the Capital Campaign and get things like a dedicated phone. We’re also looking for office equipment and computers, either older but still viable desktops and monitors and/or laptops, either Mac or Windows, and any cords and associated equipment. This is for our shared workspace so LGBTIQ+ groups can have a dedicated place to come in on their own time and more effectively promote and organize. Every little bit helps. Here are the ways you can donate, they will be listed in the notes on tonight’s episode. Also, all apologies for not having the last episode up. I’m not all that familiar with making the posts and didn’t want to mess things up. We will have both last week’s and tonight’s shows up this evening. Also, also, the Center will be putting out videos weekly or so, and maybe some from the show on our own youtube channel. If you have topics that you’d like to see covered, please let us know at the Center’s Facebook page, or by contacting us here at [email protected] or the center’s email
[email protected].”
