Ashanti Carmon, an African-American Trans Woman was shot multiple times and killed in Fairmount Heights Maryland, a D.C. suburb, on March 30. Three blocks away, and a couple of months later, Zoe Spears, another African-American Trans woman was also murdered. Police do not believe there is connection between the cases. Violence against Trans people, particularly Trans Women of Color, continues to outpace violence against other members of the LGBTQ+ community.

A Superior Court Judge in Fresno, CA. ruled against a Starbucks employee, who claimed she was constantly harassed and mis-gendered by her manager.

Assisted living and retirement homes continue to discriminate against members of the LGBTQ+ community, when it comes to placing couples together in homes and living situations.

Taylor Swift’s “You Need to Calm Down” misses the mark, despite cameos by numerous LGBTQ+ artists and icons. Swift’s music video has been critiqued by queer advocates as being “tone deaf,” both for the presumably heterosexual artist’s co-opting of the LGBTQ+ movement to make money, and her portrayal of anti-LGBTQ+ protesters and those who fight equality. Swift’s video depicts the protestors as backwards bigots, rather than those who actually hurt the equality movement – White people with money.

Frankie, Melanie, Ireland and Justin talk about the newly re-founded Stonewall Democrats, which launched in South Central Indiana, this past weekend.
